The Ministry of Finance fixes the interest rates on small savings schemes every quarter, and India Post and authorised banks pay them. For July–September 2026 the rates run from 4% on the Post Office Savings Account to 8.2% on the Senior Citizens Savings Scheme and Sukanya Samriddhi. Every rate has stayed the same in each quarter since October–December 2024.
