This page describes the functions currently used by journalisttoday.com.
Reading the site
Your browser sends technical requests to load pages, images, styles and scripts. Those requests include information such as your IP address, browser details, the requested address and the time of the request. Our hosting and content delivery services process technical information to deliver the site, maintain security and investigate faults.
The site uses Cloudflare for content delivery and protection. Images are stored in the publication’s media library and served through its public image addresses. Browser caching may keep copies of these resources on your device so repeat visits load more efficiently.
Search
The search feature sends the words you enter to the site to find matching content. A search may also appear in the page address and in ordinary technical request records. Do not enter private account information, passwords or other sensitive details into a search field.
Contact, advertising and contributor forms
The general form collects your name, email address, enquiry topic and message. The forms on About and Contact feed the same general enquiry inbox. The separate advertising form collects a project brief, including company details, website, product description, objectives, placement preferences, budget and currency, audience, timing and any additional links or comments you provide.
The contributor form collects your name, email, area of interest, pitch and supporting links, with optional availability and relevant affiliations. These details are used to assess and handle the enquiry or proposal you submit. Please avoid including information about other people unless it is relevant and you have a basis to share it.
The publishing system stores submitted fields alongside the submission time, IP address and browser information. It uses rate limits and automated checks to reduce unwanted submissions. A hashed sender identifier can be compared across sites using the shared publishing system over a 24-hour period to help identify repeated cross-site messages.
Authorised editors can receive form notifications through Telegram, which may include submitted details or an excerpt of the message. Form information is also available in the publishing system’s enquiry inbox. Submission of a form does not subscribe you to a newsletter.
External services and links
Our typography uses Google Fonts, so a browser may request font files from Google’s servers. That request provides Google with the technical information needed to respond to it, subject to its own privacy practices. Cloudflare and Telegram also process information through their respective services as described above.
Articles link to original sources and other external websites. Following one of those links takes you to a service with its own data practices. A link is not a statement that the external service follows this page’s terms.
Analytics and advertising
Audience analytics and advertising tracking tools are not currently enabled on this site. Sponsored content, when published, is identified as such; a commercial label alone does not install a tracker. We will revise this page if the site’s use of analytics, embedded services or advertising tools changes.
Keeping and accessing information
Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to handle the correspondence and maintain relevant operational records. Access is limited to authorised people operating the publication and the services needed to support it. We do not promise that every technical record can be removed immediately, including copies retained for security or operational purposes.
Use Contact to ask about information you have submitted, request a correction or request deletion. Identify the relevant enquiry without sending additional sensitive documents. We may need enough information to distinguish your request from someone else’s before acting on it.
