House to Vote on 20-Week Abortion Ban Next Week

The House plans to vote on legislation banning abortions after 20 weeks on the same day as the annual March for Life Jan. 22, The Hill reported Jan. 13. On that day, thousands of anti-abortion demonstrators descend on Washington every year, which is the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision. Legislation titled the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” was introduced by Reps. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) The bill would allow exceptions in cases involving rape, incest or if the mother’s life is in danger.
