Archana Vijaya becomes the first female Khiladi to be eliminated from Khatron Ke Khiladi – Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns!
Every Sunday one Khiladi bids adieu to the adventure hotspot Cape Town, the fellow fearless Khiladis and Rohit Shetty. After the departure of Harshad Arora and Sidharth Bhardwaj, this week it was renowned VJ and model Archana Vijaya’s turn. With the stunts getting tougher and scarier, the Khiladis seems to be fighting tooth and nail to outdo their competition and stay in the show. Tonight’s episode proved just that as Archana gave stiff competition to Iqbal Khan, Rashmi Desai and Asha Negi, but in the end fell just a little short and found herself eliminated from the show.
Living in the midst of complete daredevilry, the Khiladis have been stunned with stunts each more daring than the last. They have been displaying exemplary courage in taking up every stunt presented to them by stunt maestro Rohit Shetty. But Archana seemed like a tough nut to crack as she readily faced her fears and completed every task put before her. Whether it was jumping from one raft to another, or being locked in a box with thousands of insects, Archana has had no trouble in proving herself each time. From being dragged in the sand to swimming in ice-cold water, Archana experienced the extremes of Khatron Ke Khiladi in more ways than one. And it is just not while going solo but Archana has performed brilliantly even when partnered with co-Khiladi, Iqbal Khan during the task, ‘Aap Toap Mein Teja Boat Mein’ when they were launched in the air like human cannonballs.
Her downfall, though, came when Archana could not overcome her fear of spiders as effectively as the other Khiladis who were with her in the danger zone. While Iqbal, Rashmi and Asha pulled through in the elimination task ‘Tarantula Face Pack’, Archana found herself caught in the ‘web’ and found herself at the bottom of the pack effectively being sent home all the way from Cape Town.
Commenting on her elimination, Archana said, “Khatron Ke Khiladi was an exciting and unique opportunity that I grabbed, before leaping in for the ultimate stunt of life, which is marriage. I gave my best at every stage of the show and completed the stunts that I never thought I could have accomplished. Though I am disappointed on being eliminated this early in the game, I am proud of being able to perform every stunt that I was tasked with from the beginning. Most of all I am sad to leave these wonderful people behind, with whom I have shared an emotional rollercoaster ride like never before!”
As the number of Khiladis reduces the jumpiness and anxiety continues to increase. Who will survive another day and who will fail the tests and trials presented to them by Rohit Shetty?
